Severe infantile wrist empyema due to dental bacteremia

چکیده

Pediatric wrist empyema are very rare, this is the first case report in the current literature describing a hematogenic spreading of bacteria from dental caries, leading to a severe wrist empyema.

Empyema thoracis with concomitant bacteremia caused by nontuberculous mycobacterium is rare. Herein, we report a case of disseminated Mycobacterium abscessus in a patient with liver cirrhosis and diabetes mellitus. M. abscessus was isolated from the specimen of pleural fluid and blood.
